The current tech stack series is a few years going now, and I think I might discontinue it. I can't quite gauge the interest of my audience, if whether or not you all actually care about these posts. They tend to take a lot of effort to put together, and so the ratio just doesn't seem logical.

What I might do is just switch to a yearly cadence rather than a quarterly, as for some reason it was really hard for me to get them done every few months.

To those who are unaware these are longer posts basically detailing what tools do I use for each of these various categories. Mostly for creative production, organizing life, monetizing content, or doing content itself, etc.

If you want to check out the previous one:

My Current Tech Stack #8 Q2 2026
Waited until the last minute, but here is my tech stack for the Q2 quarter of the 2026 year! I got real into home labs recently, so that is the theme of today!

My Personal Knowledge Management

Now this isn't going to change I don't think really for a decade, Obsidian has carved its way into my life. It has fully for the most part replaced any other tool like Notion.

Now with plugins too that come out every week or month, there are solutions to other needs as well.

You can basically turn Obsidian into your all in one solution, which is a fascinating topic in of itself.

Turning Obsidian into the All-In-One PKM System
In my various attempts to make the all in one personal knowledge management system. Obsidian has come out of on top time and time again. Here is how I am trying to do it!

Social Media Scheduling

For this purpose I use Nuelink, which is the best social media management tool. I've looked into every one on the market. Used a majority of them too.

None of them have the level of automations, let alone most don't have bulk upload like NL does for shorts. Those two combined are what drew me to the tool, and the company itself (and the people there) are what kept me I think too. They work so hard to make the tool better and better.

The only thing I could see myself doing is messing with the self-hosted options like Postiz or something.

Recording/Streaming Tools

I'm not doing a "creation tools" section, as I was just thinking of what I use to make my content. Nothing special in that category. Such as I went back to using OBS, instead of using Meld as I had way too many issues with it.

I am still using Ghost CMS as my main writing platform, but I did look into Paragraph and Beehiiv again. The new features on both are appealing, but the UX of both is just not up to par. Plus Beehiiv is supremely expensive.

I would like to use something more efficient than OBS, but it is just the only one that is reliable. Plus I am moving over to Linux, and the other tools are on that OS.

Editing Tools

Speaking of Linux, luckily my editor of choice "davinci resolve" is on linux as well.

I met a company at Vidsummit that I want to check out called PromoCut, and that seem interesting to use.

Also OpusClip of course comes to mind as I use it for each of my videos for clips.

OpusClip: #1 AI video clipping tool to create viral shorts
OpusClip turns long videos into high-quality viral clips, and publishes them to all social platforms in one click. We help 20M+ creators create and grow faster.

Monetization Tools

I'm looking into Vimeo OTT, as well as STILL looking into FourthWall (I'm not sure why it has taken me so long to get it set up. Pure procrastination, or perhaps I know that its just not the right time yet deep down.

I still have the 👾 PolyPRO membership here on the website, and I'd love for you to check that out. Additionally, you can TIP me here on this site, or on Ko-Fi.

From there it is digital products like books, as well as ideally a Fourthwall merch store. Those were my goals from this year, early in the year mind you, and I failed to accomplish them yet. I am aiming to get them done though!

Hardware:

Still gotta mess with my Herk Orion 2 machine, and probably turn it into an AI server. I am moving from my intel NUC zima server, to my current main pc the Herk Pulsar (gonna wipe windows from it and put Zima OS).

I acquired a Beelink mini pc as well, and I think I'm going to use that as a HTPC with Bazzite. Including an app for Jellyfin, which will solve my streaming dongle problem. My uncle wants my intel compute stick, which I wanted to keep around, but it is aging now and he has a good use case for it.

I traded my 4k elgato facecam for the mini pc, so now I'm downgraded again. However I think I'll be getting an OBSbot camera instead (its also smaller, so better for traveling).

Tools I'm Looking at:

Now this section is more geared towards exploration, and finding new things to add to my stack. While I'm not sure if any of these will make the cut, I am pretty interested in checking them out.

Just note that if there is a specific tool or something that is higher importance, such as a self-host repo that I want to try I'll probably put that tool I'm looking at IN that section of this post instead!

Repostit

Think of this as an alternative to Repurposeio or Nuelink, but they had reached out a little while back and I want to give it a try I'm curious.

Repostit: Social Media Reposting & Content Repurposing Automation Tool
Automate social media reposting with Repostit. Connect your accounts once, and your content is automatically republished everywhere — saving hours weekly.

Velio

The founder is a successful YouTuber himself, and this seems like a great way to get unique ideas, compare SEO to competitors, and find unique video market fits.

Know what to make before it blows up.
Velio finds the video ideas your audience already wants, using current data from your channel and niche.

Tubespanner (New Editor)

Tubespanner has been around, but they have been adding a lot of interesting features. Including a shiny new editor, and as someone who hates editing I'm keen to try it out.

TubeSpanner YouTube Help Tool for Creators
Made by creators, for creators

ReFlare

The founders talked to me about this a bit last week at Vidsummit, and the premise is that you can change a lot of your old thumbnails in bulk. Now I did this myself when it comes to all of my interviews to match a new style. However I haven't touched my old thumbnails for solo videos.

Reflare.io | YouTube Growth Engine
Optimize your YouTube thumbnails with A/B testing and AI-powered generation.

AskGVT

Similar to Velio, but more of a chat experience. Being able to ask other creators questions to help solve your problems quicker.

AskGVT: Ask a human, not a chatbot
AI does the finding. Humans do the answering. Real answers from creators, with the exact video clips to prove it.

PromoCut

When I saw this video editor demoed it was quick, efficient, and it gave me ideas on how I could use it. For one I share all of my trips via instagram stories, but I can't trust that Meta won't just up and delete my account out of nowhere (it did this recently to my Threads for no reason). Meaning I need another format to share my trips.

I thought about putting all of those files into PromoCut and letting it make a video out of it.

PromoCut — AI Video Editor
Turn raw footage into polished, ready-to-post videos with AI-powered editing tools built for creators and businesses.

ClipTo

Akin to something like Imaginario or OpusSearch, but rather it is LOCAL on your computer. As a privacy advocate this is something that I can really get behind. Though I need to try it out still!

Fully local, natural language search over terabytes of media
Transform everything you create and capture into instantly searchable knowledge. 100% local. Fully private.

DevSpanner

From the makers of Tubespanner, this is a decentralized AI provider. Meaning instead of using the Data Centers which have a lot of negative qualities; You instead use an array of personal computers from people all over to do your compute. You also can volunteer your systems as well to get tokens. Like the early days of Limewire kind of!

DevSpanner — Earn AI tokens while you sleep
The BitTorrent of AI. Your machines seed the mesh overnight on cheap, green power and earn tokens; you spend them by day on any lane.

Home Lab - Home Server

Now that I have a lot more compute to do these kinds of projects. I am excited to see what all I can get done, I'm still missing storage, which isn't easy to get in this market.

However I can split the tasks across systems, and I think that overall I might be able to fully deGoogle with this setup. Now while I have a ton of self-host repos I want to dig into I am only going to share this one:

GitHub - XiovV/calich: Alternative to Google Calendar with CalDAV support
Alternative to Google Calendar with CalDAV support - XiovV/calich

This is the one I'm most excited to try when I first spin up a server again, as it replaces Google Calendar. Even has both the server and client in one, and for other platforms I might have to use a different client (but that is pretty standard).

🥡 Takeaways

Your tech stack should be something that doesn't get in the way of you accomplishing what you want to get done. I've refined mine due to various circumstances, but like they say give the hardest task to the laziest person. They will find the easiest way to do things.

I feel like that explains my stack pretty well, I tried the other tools, but they either needed more work to use or they broke.

Now like I said in the start of the post, this may very well be my last tech stack post, or perhaps I'll go down to a yearly cadence. Let me know directly if you found these posts to be of help to you!
