Its been a while since a made a "news" post, and I wanted to share my plans for the career as well. I have many plans for monetization, and I have been experiencing unique opportunities popping up.
Now over the years I have made bits and bobs when it comes to income from online work. Most of it coming from coaching, clipping gigs, or more often than not affiliate marketing.
However I've never made anything consistently income wise, even when I have put a lot of effort making the content and the PolyInnovator LLC business.
Why do I even do all this?
If I could give you a solid answer I would, but I'll try my best to explain.
I started out writing for my endeavor, the United Living Construct, which was an organization I wanted to create. I realized quickly that I wasn't personally cut out for it yet, and so education needed to be a priority. I couldn't find a suitable degree for what I needed... so I created MY OWN. Thus the Modular Degree came into fruition.
That sparked the need for making content, in order to "document my journey" as Gary Vee puts it, and that helped create the personal brand as a whole.
I quickly pivoted from my own DIY education, to teaching how YOU can do it, and I additionally kept one theme from the previous endeavor: the polymathic people.
The education angle shifted into "Knowledge Management" as a whole, and then the 🧮 The Polymath Wiki niche as well came to the forefront. Now neither really generates any income.
Although hopefully soon I'll release my updated PIOS Template for Obsidian, and that will be a great monetization source.
From there my other tags, topics, and niches grew. I started my sub-brands, and then it also helps because a lot of those niches can culminate into a book. I.e. the swimming and generalist exercise tags.
How has it become the basis of all of my work?
Even for my relationships in life, a lot of my adult friends have now come from my creator network, and the more people I meet the better things get. That Polymathy niche I mentioned, while it won't generate any income (a book is long off for me right now), it does however have the Polymath PolyCast.
A show I created to highlight other polymathic people, and that networking effect from doing interviews is powerful. It is what lead me to start going to events, particularly because tool(s) I used often for promoting the show ended up sponsoring me to go.
Additionally, I have met a lot of people that now can bring me opportunities, or I to them. I even started doing Creator interviews on the Content Polymath channel. As well as, recently started interviewing people who use Obsidian too.
Each niche, each topic, they create a phase of my life. Some phases overlap, and others are sequential. Once the "capstone" project is done with any particular phase, then I might perhaps be done with it. Either for this decade, or for good, but other phases might be lifelong too.
Phases are just what I call the areas of focus throughout life.

How can it be my future career?
The simple answer for the near future is:

I want to get on stages, present my ideas, help workshop with people, talk on panels, and ideally even be an emcee for various creator events.
This year I did my first LIVE speaking, on a panel this time around, and I hope to do more going forward. I didn't get a spot in the two events I am going to this month, but I am going to them.
Alternatively, as my network grows I am meeting the people running the events. I would like to maybe work in event managing/organizing, as that chaotic job would be something I'd thrive in.
What is next for me and the brand?
I'm hoping now that I have my laptop, that it'll motivate me to write my books more often. Although that hasn't quite been the case!
Books will be a huge step up, and I am thinking maybe of finding ways to entice people to join 👾 PolyPRO, as the membership can be super valuable.
Finally, releasing the PIOS template, starting a merch store (maybe fourthwall), and of course eventually getting each of these dozen book ideas I have out. All of those things will help set forth a true creator career!
