Another day, another month, more time passed, and what is to show for it? Most of my big projects didn't happen this year, I still haven't found a job, and my life is stagnant it feels.
Well that is certainly a way to start a post, much less cheerful than the video part of this was. I am excited for a few things: I got my computer back after a year from the company, I'm going to two events this month, and I've been able to downsize more and more.
Overall though I feel like I'm not doing enough.
What am I doing... NOW? September 2026
Is it too early to pack for the event? Maybe, I'm still probably going to do it however, as I do want to test out my new packing cube. Although last year I packed literally a month ahead for some reason.
All in all, I finally get to go back to Podcast Movement (had to miss last year), and get to see my network again. Plus visit NYC which I never have!
Then I come back for a week, and I get to go to Vidsummit for a 2nd time. An event I really enjoyed a lot last year.
Since I can't find income I have been bartering a lot. Trading some old computer stuff, an old camera, and more for a new mic set (for the conferences to record); As well as, I was able to get a new computer for my roommate, which helps with rent.
His old one is a decade old, and I knew he wouldn't upgrade unless it was pushed. He's a techie too, and I wanted him to have a bit of futureproofing.
Given that the US economy is collapsing and apparently no one else seems to be noticing. I do not want to stay in a failed state. Hopefully I'll be able to move.
PIOS Screenshot:

Huge difference this time around. Combining a dark theme, transparency css snippet, with a whole new operating system. Cachy OS with Niri frontend.
This allowed me to dramatically change how my Obsidian feels and looks.
Also I started using Obsidian Sync, so I have multiple looks for the app now. As I can't replicate this look on windows really, so it looks much more like the old screenshots still on windows. However soon I am going to be switching over to Linux fully anyways.
In a bigger view MACRO, What's Coming up
Planning on moving over to linux full time, which is not as crazy as it used to be. There are a ton of distros that make it super easy out of the box, and even if you pick a 'harder' one then you can just use AI to help you.
I've been able to downsize more and more, and I hope I can enough to fully move at some point.
You never know what life has in store for you, make sure you take care of your loved ones (pets included), and aim for doing better each day.
