Let's be clear I want to be famous, financially successful, and overall have a legacy due to my content. I feel no shame in admitting all of that, as I know I'm not alone.

To me fame is more of a catalyst or tool to achieve the goals I have set out to do.

Making money, even lots of it, again is purely a tool. Being able to not have to worry about my bills is something I strive for, and have not yet attained.

I was editing my interview with Justin Pack from Ecobits, and we were talking about that concept. You shouldn't get into making content for the fame or money, as you are more than likely going to burn out of it.

"You should get into it (content) because you like making things." - Justin Pack

To be clear I fully agree. I often encourage people to make more and more, and maybe I took too much after Gary Vee in my formative creator years. Although deep down I realize I came to the same conclusions. There are so many creators wanting more success, but you look at what they are doing and they aren't making enough.

It really takes a certain point to tip the scales, and start growing. Think of it like a snowball, it takes a lot of manual pushing before it starts to go down hill. That is the "execution" part of my Creator Equation.

Ask yourself why are you doing the creative?

Is it because you want to be famous? You want someone to consume your ideas? Do you just like making for the sake of making?

For me I think it is a mix of things, and that is okay. Wanting fame is actually a pretty natural part of the human experience. For me it is more grounded in the mindset that I can use that fame to do a lot of great things in the world. Originating from my previous endeavor the United Living Construct.

That project is what lead me down the content journey.

What are the things standing in your way, and how can you overcome them?

For some people it is money (like myself), and for others it is shyness (I faced some issues being on camera too). Regardless of what it is, the issue is more than likely pretty fixable, but how you go about doing it is the hard part.

I'm going to find a full time job, as my income from content is inconsistent.

Then I'll be able to create content in my off hours, and then I won't have to stress about making enough for bills.

What is YOUR motivation?

Personally I like the process. The video editing I was doing sparked this random idea, and I immediately started writing this post in FLOW.

I enjoy the process, I recognize when an idea is sticky, and needs to get out. I am also able to recognize when an idea needs more time on the backburner before its cooked enough.

My motivation are the ideas I want to get out in the world, and then with interviews my motivation is based on my loyalty to my guests to get the video done and out. From there I figure out where monetization like my PolyPRO or books will come in.

Please look at what your mind is telling you, and try to figure out where your motivation comes from. Even if your motivation is low right now, it is still there.
