Now since this category is meant for tools that don't have a home in the 30+ other categories. Then there may be some wild jumps between each on on this list!

In all of my many years of collecting tools across dozens of categories. It wasn't until recent years that I started finding the right tags or categories to put all 1000+ tools I have currently in my list.

However even despite having way too many tags in the first place, there are still a number of tools that don't fit neatly into the tags I have right now.

Thus I made a catch-all category of "Unique Tools", and until the day that a new category is formed (out of a need), or something along those lines. Then here are the top 10 tools I've found in this Unique tag.

#10 - Crosspaths

While I am slowly adding link aggregators into the PolyTools database, even with a new category for them. Crosspaths still sets itself apart with its philosophy on how everything gets sorted.

From the meetings, to products, and even social links. They are all specifically positioned to help you reach the right people. Or rather have the right people reach YOU.

#9 - Weeks of Life

Not something you can use all the time, but it is important for us to remember: we are going to die. There is nothing we can do to change that, and there is nothing we can do besides remember that.

If we forget, then we get complacent.

By choosing to remember that death is always around the corner, memento mori, then it allows us to make the most of our little time we have. This tool helps us visualize that time.

#8 - Archive Buttons

Look I am a frugal man, and I am not going to be paying for posts unless there is a real reason to. Such as a specific author, or website that has extreme value.

However that is not medium, and most authors I see on that platform put their posts behind a paywall because the platform forces them to.

Thus a ton of those posts are barely newsletter length, or of mediocre value most of the time. It isn't worth the membership, especially to a greedy platform. Using a tool like this one helps you get around that. Also places like Forbes or Inc, that force a pay wall on you for minimal content.

#7 - Fancify

A unique way of displaying pop ups, but more of the social media profiles. I always try to find interesting ways of increasing interaction on a site. Not just adding pop ups for the sake of pop ups, but allowing for a deeper connection between you and the visitor.

#6 - Zed Code Editor

It has been a while since I've had to edit some code, and back in that day I use Atom as an IDE.

Zed was built from scratch with the future in mind. Integration with AI in mind, well before chatbots were even established. Also meant to be minimalist on the actual app processing itself so that when you are programming you can focus on the act itself.

#5 - Spacedrive

A modern approach to a file manager, and a replacement for your built in one in your built in one. Made for all 3 operating systems.

A unified interface for multiple file types, and exploration methods in mind.

#4 - Instant Zip or Thumbnail Zip

You would be surprised just how useful something as simple as this would be. For one YouTube had this awful limit of 2mb thumbnails for well forever. Finally added 50mb as a option later on.

However in either case you needed to have your picture take up less space than that to even upload it. There wasn't even a way for you to upload a picture bigger, and let YouTube downsize it for you.

Also zips can be somewhat annoying sometimes depending on what local tool you are using to do it (almost never is it a good idea to use the one built into windows btw). This site helps you do it quickly.

#3 - Zetups

I have always loved seeing other amazing desk setups, and I am not the only one. This website isn't a tool, as much as it is just helpful for you to visualize what your setup could look like.

It is even better than just using pinterest because this is what this site is focused for, and it allows you to see a more holistic amount of desk setups than you would on another site.

#2 - Rewind AI

Now this is if you can handle the privacy aspects of using a tool like this, as both Windows and Mac both had their issues with this sort of feature.

However the idea itself of a system wide memory of what you have done over the course of the day? That is something that could be really useful for productivity.

Don't think of it like spyware, but rather like Jarvis from IronMan. Jarvis is watching everything Tony does, and uses that context to help better serve him and the work they are doing.

#1 - PIOS Framework

I'm going to put my own tool here for this post for once.

Simply because my PIOS is different from all other life OS or second brain frameworks out there. I built it for polymaths, and really for self-education inherently too.

From the autodidacts, to the multidisciplinary polymaths, this system can change based on your needs.
