I have a feeling this post, or at the very least this category, will be subject to change. There are so many auto generation tools on the market, and more come out all the time.
It actually seemed wise when I first built the PolyTools database to create this as a separate category, even back then it wasn't as clear. From the AI tools, content creation, and other categories that might overlap with this one. I could have easily put all of these tools in either of those categories, but it really felt like it should stand on its own. Now a couple/few years later it makes all the difference! Here are the top tools I think are in this tag!
#10 - Synthesia
One of the earlier tools that came out, and I think overall has been surpassed by Heygen. However this still lands a spot given the path it paved way for, and the capacity of the tool itself.
#9 - Machined AI
I'm not sure how I feel as to the ethics of using something like this, as it could come up with a bunch of slop ai content. Although I haven't really used it, so I am not fit to leave an opinion on it.
It is however unique in the myriad of various auto ai content generators.
#8 - Lumen5
Again one of the earlier tools on the market. I think some people got a lifetime deal to this one? Not sure if I'm mixing that up.
However it just never seemed to be as good as other video generators.
#7 - Nokemon
Okay this one is certainly Niche, but considering that more than half of my interest into AI tools literally came about because I wanted to make my own Pokemon-like video game. This generator for creature designs was one of the first on the market, and quickly became the best one.
If you have a pokemon fan game/rom hack that you want to make, this would be a great tool for you!
#6 - BeyondWords
I sort of struggle to put this into this category, as it is more fitting in some others. However they have added a lot of cool features over the years that really makes it stand out.
Many people not be aware of this one, but they were essentially the first to do text to speech. Well before elevenlabs if I recall correctly. I joined up with them when it was still called speechkit.
Text to audio, so that your blog posts can be listened to, which is great for hearing impaired or people who are busy and want to listen while walking. Additionally, now they have video generation from said aforementioned text to audio, then video. Which is super cool!
#5 - HeyGen
With the advent of generation 4, and the strides they have made towards producing quality avatars. I think this tool for some people might sit higher on the list. For me as someone who hasn't messed with it enough.
I felt that this placement was fair. If you disagree then I'd love to hear about it!
#4 - Invideo
One of the first auto-generated tools on the market. It was the pioneer to lead the groundwork for other tools to follow, and create their own paths.
If you want to come up with a short form video for example, without having editing or motion graphics skills. Then you can use invideo to accomplish that.
#3 - Sora
This came out of the woodwork, and dominated social media for a month. It still has left a lasting impact. A complete auto generated video.
Not to mention brought back up to the surface the question of our time:
"How do we know if it is AI or Real?"
#2 - ElevenLabs
The definitive text to speech tool, that dominated the market. As much as I love BeyondWords, 11labs was able to prove to the world that ai voiced text to speech didn't have sound crappy.
"The platform provides text-to-speech, speech-to-speech, AI dubbing, voice cloning, and video translation services"
#1 - Agent Opus
Finally a tool that takes the best of each tool, and puts it together in one. Being able to create videos like that of Invideo, but with the power of something like Heygen. Then on top of that the automatic editing to actually take the work off your hands, instead of having to fix later.
I have a ton of ideas for example, such as "The Specialist vs The Generalist", which I wanted to make as an animation explaining each's life over the decades. For me it wouldn't have been possible to do by myself. I lacked the motion graphics skills, and it would have costed to much to animate by a person.
Agent Opus allowed me to come up with a basic version even in the beta, and I could either make a new version (which I probably will) with the newer update, or I can just edit what it gave me if I wanted to. That level of creation is exactly why I created the auto-generated category.
Find the right tool for YOU:

This is a link to a page that has the database within, and you can sort by tag for auto-generation tools if you need to look around!
P.S. This is one category that I have gotten behind on, so if you can think of tools that aren't on the database. Then please let me know!
