Simply a fun post today, some visuals in the video, and just sharing my gaming desires. There are a lot of games I either skipped passed, i.e. story of seasons and sort of diablo 2 resurrected, or there are games that came out recently that I wasn't able to play like Octopath 0.

I also felt that putting this out there might be good for me to get off my butt to play and stream games. Also perhaps generate interest in the Gaming Channel.

Why make this post?

My gaming backlog in Obsidian

As you can see I have a pretty sizeable backlog, and this honestly isn't really even all of my games. It was just my main list I was able to put together one weekend, I think if I were to look deeply into all of my game stores, and my retro game collection it would be four times as much.

Now replaying a game technically isn't as important as playing a game for the first time, but there are some games I grew up with that I miss. I think would be good for the soul if you will to experience them again.

I'm making this post so that people can share in that with me.

How do I intend to combat my backlog?

The database I showed above is a bit laggy as it is trying to pull all the images from the web, instead of being locally stored, so I'd have to fix that before doing it visually.

However this is a database, meaning I can just looked at the text view or Kanban view probably in particular. Then prioritize based on what game is most important to play next.

Also the Lenovo Legion Go I am using now combines my modern gaming with retro gaming all in one device. That convenience factor I think helps a lot!

Modern versus Retro Gaming

Speaking of which, that is something I wanted to touch on, as retro gaming is still really important. A few of the games on this list are retro, and a couple games actually work better playing the switch optimized version on the Go rather than the PC version.

Whether or not I'll be streaming I think that being able to pick up my device. Play a game that brings me nostalgia and joy. That is something to strive for, and balance out all the stress in life.

ES-DE and EmuDeck also make it super easy to just load up a game. I still wish I could get steam rom manager to work properly though.

What are the games I am wanting to play?

These are the handful I thought of first, maybe there's more, and maybe something will come up (come out) that will catch my eye.

A few of these I really want to get around to playing, especially the first one.

Octopath Traveler 0:

Now I played most of the demo when that released, and I really wanted to buy it. However I wasn't able to afford it at the time, the full priced game was just a lot. The Octopath series has been one of my favorites for a long time now.

You can check out why I am so interested in Octopath here:

Octopath Traveler 3 - Predictions
Learn all about Octopath Traveler 3, or at least my predictions for the game. I come up with the classes of each character and their job, The remixed secret jobs, and even doubling the chapter amounts in the end.
My Experience Playing Octopath Traveler 2
A 2nd playthrough of Octopath Traveler 2 has gotten me thinking about the series as a whole. What parts of the game I liked, and what I didn’t like. This post is my collection of thoughts on the game!

Cassette Beasts:

One of the rare games that was made godot which intrigues me. I spent quite some time trying to make my own monster taming game.

Phasevos Dev Logs 1-8 - PolyInnovator Gaming
I started making a game when I first got into using AI. Now that cursor is a thing, maybe I should start again. This is a monster taming game series I started doing dev logs for, and I wanted to consolidate the posts for easier reading.

Coromon:

Probably one of the monster taming games I'd enjoy the most, as it feels more like nostalgic pokemon.

Ghostwire Tokyo:

Probably one of the only AAA games I have had an interest in for a while. Maybe Bladerunner or Cyberpunk too, but this game is something of a unique play. The spiritual yet modern gameplay of Tokyo. Seems so interesting.

Story of Seasons - Friends of Mineral Town:

I grew up loving the Harvest Moon series, and when they switched the name over to Story of Seasons I didn't quite put two and two together. So this game launched and I didn't think much of it. Now I've bought it on a couple platforms, hoping I'd get around to it, but I haven't yet.

Diablo II Resurrected:

Same story for this, but maybe that was because I spent probably a 1000 hours playing it when I was a kid/teen. My earliest gaming memory was Super Mario World on an emulator on a PC in 1999, but the next earliest is Diablo 2.

I loved playing this game, and this update was a faithful remake. I need to finish it with the new graphics, and now a new DLC after 20 years.

The Legend of Dragoon:

The next two are PS1 games that I adored, and while I've played them a lot. I actually didn't quite beat the final boss of this one. As I hadn't grinded, and I want to come back to it. There's actually a fan port for PC called Severed Chains.

Megaman Legends 1-2:

While I've beat this twice now, I wouldn't mind trying a hard mode run (idk how to get a file to jump to it, as I already have beaten it but I don't have my save files).

Such a unique world, story, and characters. I'd have loved for the Megaman Legends 3 project to at least have launched the demo. I actually was on the forum helping develop the game, and then they cancelled it on my birthday no less.

Should you expect Streaming?

I wish I could say yes, and technically I have the tech nearly ready to go. However it is a matter of doing it, and dealing with the tech issues. Although I think I'm going back to OBS, after having so many issues with Meld Studio over and over again.

I need to mess with my streaming apps again, get things set up on this computer, especially if I am to be multistreaming. Then figure out what's the quickest way for me to set up my gaming situation.

Maybe dual screen the legion go, have the hdmi show the same content (although aspect ratio is off: 16:10 to 16:9), then have the eGPU permanently set up for streaming. Thus I can just hook it up for that.
